My thought so far is that the helpfulness of any real thoughts I have on the subject will be negated by the fact that there is a difference between the situations of a newcomer to the community and someone who has been here for multiple years. I could speculate and theorize, but I'm not sure how much good that'll do anybody.

However, I invite you to do something. Go into RinkChat, and create a private room where you won't be bothered because no one will even know you're there. Memo me (type: /memo Gahalyn whateveryouwanttosay) about your situation - I won't give you false sympathy, because I can tell you now that I really do care. (Also, if you think you might be coming to chat in the future to, well, chat, then you may want to stay in that room and look at the help file and test out some commands and such.)

This is only a suggestion; don't feel obligated in any way. I'm just offering because I know how it can feel to need to share something but see things that seem to stop you.
