Actually, me and my family are slightly luckier than most of our fellow-townspeople in that regard. We live on the edge of town closest to the coast, so we just take our water straight from the pipe as it goes past on the other side of the road, *before* it reaches the storage place and has the last batch of chlorine and suchlike added to it.
I've been told that it's possible to taste the difference between the water at our place and the water in town.
