Interesting. I thought it sounded like the Lord of the Rings board game. You've got several paths to take to complete a section, but all you really need to do is complete the main path -- if you complete the side paths, like the Friendship path, you sometimes get special things, or if you don't get far enough on those side paths, bad things might happen to you.

I'll comment more later, once I get a chance to re-read all this.
