After a decade without a job, I am finding that jobs do more for you than pay you money, occupy your time, or...
For example, I find it hard to finish a task. I get sidetracked and pause and the pause may last for days, or weeks, or... If you have a job, you have to finish stuff. You can't keep tripping over an unfinished project the way I do now.
If you have a job you have to stay on a schedule. You go to work at a certain time, to lunch at a certain time, home at a certain time, and... Without a job, I sometimes don't know what day it is, much less what time. I depend on my stomach to tell me when to eat. I don't even wear a wrist watch.
If you have a job, you have to get up and bathe, shave, get dressed, and... Employers expect you to look presentable. Without a job, I neglect shaving for days. I may wait until afternoon to hit the shower, and I wear blue jeans almost everyday. I shine my shoes only when I am about to take a trip or go someplace fancy. I sometimes find it easier to put on a hat instead of combing my hair.
But I'm willing to put up with these problems rather than go out looking for a job. Howard
