If you've taken care of the rampaging creature in the arboretum, you can find a round-about way to get to an area that's being carefully guarded from several directions (all except one).

If you're at the stage of the chase where it keeps going back to a place where it's already been, there's ONE place in that loop where you can immediately keep it from running away.
