gee, and NC isn't as bad as north of here.... on the bike trip this summer, we biked through va and nc, and the cornfields were nice and green (we judged everything by cornfields, seeing that they were the best places for bathroom breaks in the middle of a 20-mile leg). when we went up north to rehobath in delaware, everything was pretty brown and dead. it was sad.

speaking of floyd...
oh happy day
oh happy day
when floyd blew
he blew the schools away

yes, that's right, no school for us dcers today... actually, no school for most of the area. they decided it was just too dangerous, although at this point it's just really windy. no power problems and such yet (well obviously, since i'm on the computer...). not even a lot of rain. i'm staying home safe today, though, no outings for ME. i finally get a chance to catch up on the forum (and my homework...)

the strange thing about Floyd (well, not really, but kinda) is that on the bike trip (when you're tired of hearing of bike trip, just tell me) i had this little neon pink and yellow teddy bear who we named floyd who rode tied to my handlebars. we loved him, he became a kind of mascot for us. before floyd (the hurricane) was a problem, my friend discovered that hurricane floyd was forming, so we've been following his progress carefully. we think he's coming to sweep away all of the people who didn't accept floyd (there were only a few of them, but those junior guys had better watch out). anyway, we decided it's funny until somebody gets killed, which as far as i know hasn't happened yet...

uni"next time i'll be more careful with those voodoo teddy bears..."peg
