I have had relativly good experiance with DMVs. I got my lisence in South Carolina, took the computer test (well, it wasn't a computer, it was a machine that showed you view master pictures and asked a question and you pushed a button to answer it. I pushed the wrong button for two questions and they asked them oraly, I got them right.) and got my learners permit. Then a year later (I was 15, had to wait untill I was old enough) I took the road test and became a lisenced driver.

Then I changed residency to Louisiana. As my old lisence had not expired (was due to in a year) they did not have me take the test again, I filled out a form and within an hour had a new lisence.

Then I changed residency to Alabama about two years later. Again, my lisence was not yet expired so I didn't have to take any kind of test (Actualy I'm not sure what happens when one's lisence expires as it has never happened to me in the seven years i've been driving) since the first one. The ordeal took about an hour only because I was accompianing my sister who had to prove she was enrolled in school since she was not yet 20 or whatever age she was at the time and in college. We also registered to vote in that state so it took a little longer.

My parents handled the vehicle registration all these times as the vehicles are in their name. It went smoothly without any trouble. Alabama loosely requires inspection stickers but when my dad told them that two of our cars were in another state because of their kids being in college the people said ok and didn't put stickers on ANY of our cars. Also aparently they don't require yearly inspections. SC didn't require inspections either. LA did, once a year, go to this large drive through barn and, depending on how many people are being inspected that day, take 5-20 minutes of your time and it's over. Painlessly unless you have dark tinting on your windows which is promptly removed by the inspector. (One car we had bought had that, they didn't like it.)

So... At least three states have more compotent DMVs than where you are BG. I've also not heard any complaints about Mississippi's. Which reminds me, I'm due for a residency change, I think my lisence is about to expire!

Platy*where do I live again??*pi007
