Of course, that's completely understandable. Perhaps I came across a little too strong in my post; if I did, I apologize. I think we're essentially on the same page, though.
My point is closer to what Lirelyn said in another post (and far better than I did, I think). Compatible spiritual beliefs not needing to be defined by denomination, all that. I know I personally don't define my beliefs by denomination at all. I enjoy exporing the differences between different groups, seeing how their experiences of worship and other aspects change depending on their own tradition. Variation in the non-essentials.
My emphasis in my own life is on finding common ground in the foundation. If some of the bricks on top are different than mine, I'm willing to look at them and see if they conflict with what I've already built at all. And if they do, I see if there is some form of compromise that can be reached on those non-essential issues. But the foundation is the most important to me.
