Well, the verdict is in. I finished the book this morning. I found it weird. That is not unusual for PKD. A lot of his stories are weird. Most, actually.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of those stories of his that left me with a "meh" feeling. Kind of indifferent, if you know what I mean. "What was that for?" I think it's probably just because I have seen and loved the movie based on it for years, and was comparing the two subconsciously the entire time I was reading. I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I did the book.
If you haven't seen "Blade Runner" yet, then you might enjoy the book more than I did. Even if you have, you might. I personally would recommend you start with some of PKD's short fiction, though, as a better introduction to his work. That way you won't invest as much time in it if it turns out you don't care for him.
