They always seem to have these tacky headlines onto their articles, and it seems like each day they have women in revealing clothes. It just seems like the reporting over here is a lot different than in the U.S. (although I heard the Guardian is better than most newspapers, although I have yet to pick one up). Just a random observation

What Bourne said. Avoid the tabloids (that's the little ones that don't fold up). This leaves the Guardian/Observer and the Independent, which are all right, and the Torygraph and the Times, which are old and stodgy. But don't judge the quality of our press by the Daily Hate and the Scum, please.

I think Jim Hacker put it best in Yes, Prime Minister:

"Humphrey knows nothing about newspapers, he's a civil servant. I'm a politician. I know all about them. I have to. They can make or break me. I know exactly who reads them. The Times is read by the people who run the country. The Daily Mirror is read by the people who think they run the country. The Guardian is read by the people who think they ought to run the country. The Morning Star is read by the people who think the country should be run by another country. The Independent is read by people who don't know who runs the country but are sure they're doing it wrong. The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country. The Financial Times is read by the people who own the country. The Daily Express is read by the people who think the country should be run as it used to be run. And the Sun's (and the Daily Star's, and the Daily Sport's) readers don't care who runs the country providing she's got big (ahem)s."

Zarn"buys the Mirror, but only because it's small and it never does one too much harm to know what the gutter press is on about"iwoop
