Sure, he didn't actually reverse time or knock over a building with a touch or anything, but I didn't see too much evidence of his limitations other than it took him a really long time to take out some of the baddies (and I explain that more by "we need longer fights" than any sort of actual plot-based reason.) He barely even gets HIT the entire movie.

Right, but fanboys around the Net are claiming that he can just totally shape the Matrix to his will, which seems to have no basis in the movies. He needed help to take out the two power stations, for instance. He's not god in the Matrix.

Dammit, I was afraid of that. The Architect was saying something about hope or something, and IF LOVE SAVES THE DAY AGAIN IT WILL BE CRAP! ENOUGH WITH LOVE SAVING THE DAY! IT NEVER SAVES THE DAY IN REAL LIFE! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WARS BEEN WON BECAUSE THE GENERAL LEARNED TO LOVE??? OH YES I REMEMBER WHEN WORLD WAR II ENDED AFTER MACARTHUR FELL IN LOVE WITH HITLER YAY!!!

Stupid sci-fi.
