As a young Baptist minister (who can't dance, but not because any church has told me not to), i would suggest that any believer must be careful who he confesses his sins to. Sharing private sins in a public assembly may cause confusion for those present who aren't already involved in the situation. And confession may be good for the soul, but sharing with someone of a lower maturity level can harm your relationship with the other believer. Confessing to someone who is at least as spiritually mature as you are can really be a great thing, because it can open a channel by which you can hold each other accountable. Confessing one's sins to clergy can (though don't write this upon your door lintels or forehead as a universal maxim) be a way to get great advice on how to confront the sin and steer clear of it in the future.
