I definitely would. You have tons of options for sound outputs on DVD players, and I guarantee there's a way to hook it up to your stereo receiver.

Yeah, chances are you have composite inputs. Using RF (co-axial cable) for video game systems and DVD players is not standard anymore, so the grandson is probably using composite inputs. You should be fine hooking a DVD player up to the television.
