It gave front-page coverage to the most recent speaker in a lecture series at the university, and minor coverage elsewhere in the paper of a non-university-related, general event which had already received widespread coverage in the mainstream media and will probably continue to do so. As far as I can see, they have their priorities exactly right.


You know, I was thinking that, but then I realized that this is the first DLS speaker that I'd even heard of this year. And I read the paper every day. Perhaps I missed it. Even so, it still seems that something that had killed 35 people by that time would receive more recognition.
