I think the secret area is worth of finding but not worth of going mad about searching it for ages.
I suggest that you play other adventure games, because it isn't very fun to play the same game two times in a row. But if you have completed some other Adventure Games, it seems more exciting to play Goa again and then you may try to find the secret area.
