I would like to live until I get bored. I thought that this answer meant "several thousand years."

As for that average life span: I've always kind of wondered if that life span included the many babies who died very young. It seems that all of the famous people from long ago lived until they were fifty or sixty. "Long ago" means at most a couple of thousand years ago, I know- but I've never managed to find out whether or not that was the average life span of the person who survived childhood.
