The rabbit in the moon

I think the thing I have the most basic, deep-down trouble with, regarding living in America, is the moon. It's upside-down, and that just isn't normal. I can get used to the different stars -- becoming familiar with new constellations is something you *expect* when changing hemispheres -- but seeing an upside-down moon in the sky is just completely disturbing. It's wrong. It's weird. It JUST IS NOT RIGHT, and although I'm not sure how this should happen, I feel strongly that something ought to be done about it.
The strangest thing is that even though I know the idea of "the man in the moon" was originally a northern hemisphere concept, this never stopped me from seeing a smiley-face in the southern hemisphere moon. In fact, it looks FAR MORE like a smiley-face there than it does HERE, where the idea was invented. Try as I might, I can't make out a face in the moon here at all, and I can't figure out how anybody could have originally done so.
I can, however, see the Rabbit In The Moon very clearly indeed. As if it wasn't strange *enough* having to look at an upside-down moon, it has a giant cartoon bunny rabbit stuck to it. How disturbing.
