I'd just assume that your choice of hat meant something like "I went to Canada and bought a souvenir". Last I heard, people still bought sweatshirts and keychains and postcards and shotglasses and those incredibly ugly kitchy collector's plates and those useless little spoon-things when on vacation.

But then again, one of the few things I'm cynical about is the intelligence of the general population. I'd be less so, except I keep getting more and more reasons every day to maintain it.
