What you want is a rescue party. Create a new batch of characters, get them to the town with the dead ones, then (perhaps some at a time) drag the dead ones back to Kaliti, where the prices are more reasonable.

I'm no expert here (though I have beaten MR once), but my advice for changing base towns is:
1) Start from Perrin (of course!), and adventure on level 1 until you get Proper Authorisation, then level 2 until you get the Pass Gem.
2) Go down to level 4, *once*, and see if you can get a level-up without dying. If you can't, stay on levels 1-2 (or maybe 3) for a few more levels, then try again.
3) Go to level 4, fetch the Gatekeeper's Key; return to Perrin and get your levels (no doubt there will be at least one).
4) Descend to level 4, go through the locked door, and then *without entering Kaliti*, take the lift to level 5. Attempt to reach the pools. If you die you'll go back to Perrin where resurrection is cheap. If you succeed (ie get all the pools and remain alive), *then* I'd go to Kaliti.
5) OPTIONAL: Gain the capability to go to level 10; then adventure, *still from Kaliti*, to that depth, and once level 10 is "safe", re-base from Teralt. Personally I think the difficulty of getting to level 10 from Kaliti isn't enough to worry about (take the lift to level 8, wade through a few monsters, down to level 9, a few more monsters or perhaps a TELEPORT, then plummet) compared to the immensely reduced cost of resurrection.
