> So, I've been here for three years, and only now has it occurred to me to find out where some of the more bizarre names come from (as if zwemgek isn't). Like Mike the penny-stamp man. And mousie. And bandaids. Maybe everybody else already knows this, and I'm filling the message bored with useless clutter. But the drive to satisfy my curiosity has always been very strong (you should see me at Christmas when the wrapped presents are all out early). I think it would be interesting to find out where some of your names come from.
I actually got my nickname from my brother. It's kind of a long story but I'll tell it as short as possible.
I ride dirtbikes. Yep, those loud noisy things that some boys want but end up getting something less expensive (by the way, in case you didn't know, I'm a girl). My brother created a dirt track on part of our parents property. My brother, one of his friends, and myself would ride on it as often as we could. In the first year that I started riding, I would always crash or do something that resulted in me getting hurt. One day, my brother and I were talking about cool names for dirt bike videos. He came up with the name "Band-Aids", and the video would involve mainly crashes. I told him that that name would fit me (since I always hurt myself that resulted in me getting at least one band-aid). And ever since then, it's always kind of fit. All my gear has the name Band-Aids on it along with all my school stuff. I even have band-aids stickers so I can stick them in the back window of my car when I get one. It's not a name that everyone knows, it's just more of a name that guys who ride use when they see me.
When it came to having a name here, it was just second nature for me to have "bandaids" as my name.
