I saw Mr Rodgers once in my life, when I was in the USA for a few months when I was eight. I can't remember anything about the show I saw, except an impression of a soporific man in a cardigan, and my mother and grandmother saying things like "You have to watch this! It's an essential part of childhood!" Then I sort of went "eh" and went back to reading James Michener's "Hawaii", which I had found in the attic a couple of days before.

Yesterday I was in a mall where I overheard a conversation between two cashiers. The part that stuck in my mind was "MR RODGERS CAN'T DIE YET!!!!!! I need him to help me raise Olivia! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGH!"

Anybody who gets an accolade like that must be a loss to the world.
