I don't know if anyone's paying attention to this thread anymore, but...

CS Lewis wrote a very interesting trilogy. The second book, Perelandra, is the driest (I thought it was almost boring, and it's hard to bore me when I'm reading), but it does address this topic very creatively. Lewis doesn't claim that Perelandra is what the Garden of Eden was like, but he does explore that possibility, and it's fascinating--once you get into it.
