There's more to it than just the difficulty level for some of us. I'm a youth minister, and one of the biggest things a couple of my youth do when they get together is play a variety of games on a Nintendo Entertainment System (a top-loader, which i hadn't seen before, but i assume it was put out when the SNES was released). What they like about it? The games aren't as "real" as the newer stuff. They like the old cartoon-y stuff.

Another thing i suspect they enjoy about the old NES games (none of which are extended role-playing games) is that they often take minutes to play through, or perhaps hours. Not like the stinkin' 4-disc 15-million-hour things that are being put out now.

Mi *still not a gamer, but certainly enjoys a good round of ExciteBike* ke
