I agree. I think it would *still* be an extremely dumb idea with a very slim chance of completion, even if it was a normal-tempo piece of music which is long enough to go on for 639 years. At least then people would go and listen to bits of it. It would still count as music.

As it is, however, the theory appears to be that they will drag out an ordinary piece of music at such great length that it will not even appear to *be* music to anybody listening.

The first three notes are going to last a year and a half. That isn't music. It's a loud droning noise on a single note that goes on for months. By these criteria, you might as well call a factory whistle "music".
