Don't worry Jommeke. You do have sane friends in North America: at least Canadians, like the rest of the world, have sensibly embraced the metric Ideal. No longer do we have to worry about How many tablespoons are in a cup are in a pint are in a quart are in a gallon. No more do we wonder over How many pecks are in a bushel are in a ton, or whether a hogshead is more solid than a firkin. Imperial measurements, the bastion holdovers of the British empire, must be so easy to use that the Brits couldn't wait to get rid of them ;)
