Humph-- and I thought my situation was unique. For the longest time, people looked shocked to hear I was 14. I assumed I looked younger, until I finally commented [something along the lines of 'Darnit, why does everybody do that?] and the person said I looked 16. I'm not sure if she was just trying to not make me mad or what....
Then, most people who talk with me assume I'm, oh, third grade-- especially if they've been subjected to my humor.
