Yeah - the audience take AGES to warm up to him, and the first quarter of the material is a bit dull. Once he gets into the monkey with a gun bit it's funnier, though. But you're right, the show in French was far funnier.

The sort of "off-stage" interview bit where he's quite obviously drunk and starts giggling in a really high pitched voice is quite amusing too.

They need to re-release Unrepeatable and Definite Article on DVD. Haven't seen those in a while.
