You're right, there is exceptional science going on in orbital missions. A senator mentioned this morning that MRI and CAT-scan are just two of many advances made possible by space experimentation.

To me, one of the greatest tragedies of Columbia is that they had remarkable success in their experimentation ... and only half that knowledge was transferred to earth. The rest died with the crew.
