I believe it was Don who posted that he freaked out while driving because he could not find his keys in his pocket. While I have never done this, I do freak out if i'm anywhere but in the car or in my own place and do not have that familiar feel against my leg, or the jingle as i tap my right pocket to make sure they are there. I have similar connections to my wallet. I will even take my keys with me on a trip where I will not have my car or use for any of the keys simply because otherwise I would go crazy.

Of course, I doubt I will ever not have any keys, I have a key to my parents house, to my grandmother's house, and to my sister's car as well as my own car. Also there is my apartment, and the keys to four differant locks at my church (I am the music minister there) So while I could possibly be rid of the church, apartment, and my own car keys at some point, I would probably still have my grandmother's house key, my parent's house key, and likely my sister's car key wherever I go, even if to another country, just because that would give me three keys to keep with me at all times. Of course I guess in the distant future after my grandmother has passed on and maybe my parents, then I wouldn't have those two keys, and I imagine in a few years when I am not living in the same town as my sister I wouldn't have her car key any longer. But I would keep SOME keys with me, even if I didnt have anything they went to.

Thats an odd thing to think about... I have, as well as probably billions of other people, so accoustomed myself to checking for my keys and panicing if I do not have them that it is hard to part with them, near impossible.

On another note, I got to thinking as I read Brunnen-g's post, do keys look the same in all countries? Or are they differant in NZ and other places than in the US? I mean, I would imagine car keys all have a similar look to them, since my japanese car (honda) has a key similar to some I see on other cars, but maybe they don't even? And what about house keys and the like?
