That photo would have been much better if you'd been holding the same pose as the General. I have some great photos from Japan like that. Partway up Mt Fuji, there is a statue in a heroic "Look!" pointing-into-the-distance pose, so we formed up around the statue with everybody pointing in the same direction, squinting to see, and with various "OH MY GOSH WHAT IS IT?!" expressions and poses. The photo came out great. It looks like we are about to flee from Godzilla or something.
