Yes, i'm a Christian. Yes, i grew up reading C. S. Lewis. Yes, i got to take a couple of philosophy classes in college (specifically, Intro and History of).
I guess i tend to approach the question of evil with regard to the question, "How can God be good and allow things like [insert tragedy here]?"
I believe in God's absolute goodness, where good is defined as what pleases God (or else as what is consistent with His character). With this premise, i don't see any opening for the idea of pure evil, or evil that exists with dependence on a pre-existent good.
But i've gotten out of Stephen's prospective universe and into my own real worldview. Sorry, Stephen.
