These things can be universally disastrous to humans, though, and the benefit to other creature types isn't an argument against calling it a disaster. When Hitler wiped out Jews, that was a disaster for the Jews but not the German high command; but that doesn't make it any less deplorable. If someone deliberately starts a bushfire for the sake of the countryside (disregard for now the likelihood of this truly being a good thing ), is he any less of a criminal for this reason? Destruction of life and property cannot and must not be justified on the basis of personal gain.
