I was just thinking: I heard somewhere (feel free to shoot this down or back it up. What am I gonna do, stop you?) that most of Florida's rainwater comes from... hurricanes. Hurricanes are only *really* disastrous because humans insist on building near the coastlines where the hurricanes hit. The homes are destroyed, the people homeless for a while, the homes are built back up again, lather, rinse, repeat. I've gotta wonder: is it really worth it to live that close?
