I think the main trouble here is that he isn't removing God from time. He's thinking of God as a being who exists within time rather than outside of it, and, as such, God knows what the outcome of something will be, though it is subject to change later - kind of the fortuneteller's cop-out, really. "I can predict the future, but the future can be changed..."
Note that, if we remove God from time, things that can change over time no longer matter in terms of what God does and doesn't know. The outcome would seem fixed with respect to time, since He isn't subject to its effects.
