I have a funny Lavalava story to tell. It's actually my husband's story so I'll probably mess it up, but here goes.

Back when he was in college he had a roomate who spent two years in Samoa, and so, naturally, had a lavalava or two that he wore to be comfortable. One day Don was talking to him as he was putting his retainer in. Don was talking about the retainer, Paul (the roomate) thought he was talking about the lavalava...

Don: "So, is that thing comfortable?"
Paul "Yeah..."
Don: "Do you have to wear it for a long time?"
Paul "Ummmm....no."
Don: "How long do you have to wear it for, then?"
Paul: "However long I want."

The conversation goes on like that for awhile, until they figured out that they were both talking about different things. Heh.

Ti'owns a lavalava'cia
