Sysadmins *especially*. We Unix administrators are world renowned for our slovenly appearance and unkempt look. Wasn't it you who said Peter Jackson looks like a Unix administrator?
I've settled on my own version of "business casual" for interviews. I wear slacks and a button shirt, sometimes with a sweater over it to hide the fact that I'm not wearing a tie if that seems important for some reason. Usually, it isn't. Nine times out of ten the guy (and it's almost always a guy, or a group of guys in my experience, although I've known many female Unix admins in my time, I've never actually interviewed with one) shows up in jeans (holes optional) and a t-shirt (again, holes optional). Sometimes they go all out and wear a polo shirt or even a button shirt for the occaision, but not usually, unless they happen to be the type that "dresses up" normally.
