This sounds like something from How to Be Funny. Or from Slapdash City. It's from my life, more specifically my job.

We have to fill availabillity sheets, so the boss can makes a somewhat pleasant schedule. The sheet is basically a schedule sheet without any assignement, you put a checkmark when you're available, and leave the days you're not blank. Or you write yes when available, and no... (Well, actually, it's oui and non, but you get the idea)

On January the 1st, we're closed. So in that column, the boss wrote FERMÉ in bold letters, in case we'd forget what day we're off.

Here comes the interesting part. Or not - See, I have this dumb co worker. Let's call him P. P. decided to write "Oui" in M.'s row, on the January 1st column.

So, get this, she was available to work, even if we were closed! Ah ah ah!

I gave him the "What are you on?" look he desserved. So he procedd to explain the joke, and how it'd confuse our boss, and how it was funny.

I was the first, being in the room when he did the deed. But he tried to explain it to frickin' everybody. Probably customers, too.

"So see, when Pat makes the schedules, there's this Yes on a day we're closed! So he'll be confused!"

He even explained it to M., who found it very not funny. I think P's goal, althought he didn't state it, was to get M. to work on New Year day. That would require our boss being dumb enough to... No, it's not humanly possible.

I'd conclude with a word on how some people actually read "How to Be Funny" as a real guide, but the affordmentionned funny guy can't read English. I'm beginning to doubt if he can read French.

Etie"And the customers are supposed to be bad"nne
