One of my seventh grade teachers was also a college professor. He also owned a small corporation, and invested his money a lot (probably very well). He had enough money to buy 2 Ford Mustangs, 3 Corvettes, and a Porche 911. Tell me that doesn't cost a lot! > > #9?
You are correct. Teachers don't make much money teaching, but a high percentage have profitable sidelines. But you have to wonder how the second job affects teaching. I alway needed every ounce of energy just to remain effective in the classroom. Even when I taught adult basic education for a couple of hours in the evening, it slowed me down a little the next day. In the summer, I often became a student myself, but when I didn't, I tried to earn a little supplimental income. When I painted classrooms eight hours a day all summer, it was a relief to go back to teaching in the fall. Howard
