I'm not a baseball fan, but I keep seeing stuff in the sports section about Pete Rose and the possibility that he will receive forgiveness and take his rightful place in the hall of fame.

I know he made a dumb mistake, but a life sentence was a little too much punishment. Rose was a very watchable baseball player. Nobody ever played the game like he did and few players love the game as much. Pete Rose played baseball like Cale Yarbrough drove a race car, like Sam Sneed played golf, and like Dr. J played basketball. Athletes who put that kind of enthusiasm into a game should never lose their chance to be in a hall of fame.
