fog

I got up the other morning and we had the thickest fog I seen in many years. I couldn't see the garage from the house, a distance of just over 20 feet. Part of the problem was that the garage has a new coat of white paint and it was only about half daylight at the time.
I got dressed quickly and felt my way out to the garage. Not much fog had penetrated inside, but I could see some haze in there when I turned on the light. So I got a saw and went out into the yard where I cut some blocks of fog. I took them over by the garden and stacked them near the compost pile. They will be handy next spring when I start watering the new plants. I hope there will be a few blocks left in July when the rain stops and fogs are somewhat thinner. I was glad the temperature wasn't below freezing because frozen blocks of fog would be heavier.
The fog we have these days is nothing compared to the fog when I was a child. Most of those would dull a good saw and sometimes explosives were necessary to break them up. When that happened, we would gather up some of the small pieces and build a fog fence around the yard. Then when the sun came out the fence would water the lawn.
Our dog was knocked cold by a fish what got lost and was swimming through the fog. Unfortunately, the fog was so thick, he drowned. The dog, not the fish. You didn't think I meant the fish, did you? That would be silly. How"but seriously folks"ard
