This is where all the reviews and personal accounts of the movie have been unanimous. I can't wait to see this -- and I don't think we can overestimate how important a landmark this is for film, when a computer-generated character is used as a serious actor for the first time. (I'm not sure if that's the right way to describe Gollum, but from everything I've heard, the movie could rightly be considered the first time a *special effect* has handed in a top-notch dramatic performance equal to the best live actors.)

LOL! I had forgotten about Grishnakh. Somehow that's going to make the movie slightly cooler, in a funny sort of way.
I just found out today that Lawrence Makoare, New Zealand's favourite Huge Scary Character actor (he once famously complained about how he always seems to get typecast as huge scary characters, which struck me as hilarious, considering that he IS HUGE AND SCARY and doesn't seem to realise this is the reason), is the evil henchman in the recent James Bond movie, as well as being both Lurtz and the Witch King of Angmar in LotR. So now I guess I should see that too.
