Sometimes newspaper reporters get it so right it's just beautiful. Today's national newspaper contained an article about the Two Towers opening in Wellington, which happened on the same day as the city's annual Santa Parade, a civic event with floats and entertainers and so on, which is aimed at small children.

The writer pointed out that it was appropriate to hold a Santa Parade at the same time as a LotR opening. Both events happen once a year just before Christmas; both involve hordes of shrieking fans; and both conclude with the arrival of a jolly, fat, bearded man wearing the exact same clothes he did last year.
