Well, that is called "open book exam", but that only happened every now and then, in general we werent allowed to bring one single thing to an exam (very childish: they checked all our pockets, ...)
We programmed (as long as we could use them) our calculators with formulas, famous equations or whatsoever, that you should know by heart :)
