A recent post mentioned Mr. Bean, the bumbling character played by an English actor whose name escapes me. Here is my Mr. Bean story.
About a year or so ago we took a cruise and our server in the main dinning room looked exactly like Mr. Bean. I'm not talking vague resemblance, I mean exactly, spittin' image, ditto, carbon copy, Mr. Bean. To make matters worse (better?), he even had a lot of the same mannerisms. He sounded different, because he was from Turkey, but until he opened his mouth, he *was* Mr. Bean. He was nice enough, but we have had better waiters. Anyway, I wasn't the only one to notice it, because the other waiters called him Bean. His name was unpronouncable, as far as I was concerned, so I was tempted to call him Bean myself. I managed to surpress that. Anyway he dropped a tray of food once. Fortunately it was the last day of the cruise, because after that I couldn't look at the poor fellow and keep a straight face. (I am not making this up.) Anyway, I couldn't help but wonder who he thought I looked like. How"snicker"ard
