Another part of it is a weird kind of patriotism; I want to go north because it's a part of my country, perhaps part of what makes my country what it is, and I haven't seen it. But then, I haven't seen the west coast or the praries either. They are also important pieces of my country and I haven't been there either but I don't feel the same pull to the west as I do to the north. There must be another reason hidden somewhere but I can't think of what it is. > > But like I mentioned at the beginning, a week probably isn't long enough to do this right. My father and brother went in a park north of Pagniartung last summer, on Baffin Island. Hiking for three weeks with a team of geologist.
Looking at the pictures... Well, some of them look like the Hymalayas, some look like stuff out of a D&D game, some of them... Wow.
BTW, lotsa rocks to climb over there.
But yes, it's an interesting place to go. The newer airstrip in Pang runs along a very high cliff ; the plane comes out of the cloud and right there, there's a cliff to your side. Five second later ; THUD, SCREEEEEEEEEECH!
The old airstrip? It's also known as main street. That's too cool for words.
