Dutch Treat is defined in two of my dictionaries as "a meal or other entertainment etc. for which each person pays his or her own way". I wonder why the Dutch would become associated with that particular expression????

Don't worry, the Flemish have all the greatest 16th to 17th century artists. There's Rembrandt van Rijn, Van Dyck, Peter Paul Rubens, etc., and I think Vermeer from an earlier period. I always liked what Monty Python said about certain kinds of art: "Small brown and green thing for sale. Could be a Vermeer."

Wolf "I really hope those are *Flemish* artists I mentioned, and not Dutch"...

..."Oh well, don't say anything and maybe he won't notice if it's otherwise" spirit :)
