Ah, the British r. I was never able to pronounce that either.
I think my biggest beef with German pronunciation is that when you guys borrowed words from French you kept the nasal vowels nasal, thus making words like "Restaurant" sound like Louie the French Chef in The Little Mermaid rather than any normal human word.
