HELP IN FQ2!!!! Stuck in BEGINNING HELP????

i am just starting fq2...i cant find a weapon....i already gave the soothsayer four coins...and got hints...but they didnt help. i cant get past the cyclops, and other monsters...i need a weapon of some sort...but cant find one...help NETHING PWEASE!!!!!
