Okay, some of this stuff can't be done til later on, so I'll address the earlier stuff. But you're missing some items that are in the beginning of the game (before the chasm and rope bridge) so you'll have to jump into the river and swim back to get them.
Vampire: You're going to have to make like Buffy to beat him. Have you climbed the tall tree near the beginning of the game (near the bashed wall)?
Unicorns: You can't catch them without bribing them with vegetables first. (Where have you seen a farm?) They'll bring you someplace that's going to require ALL your mapping skills to navigate - but it's got lots of stuff you need.
