Back in the dark ages before camcorders, I bought an 8mm movie camera and projector. I took lots of movies of the kids and stuff, and then one day I figured out that the projector would run backwards. Some of it was pretty funny and the kids laughed their heads off.

Have you ever seen anybody eat a banana in reverse? Waterfalls fall up. Lawn sprinklers suck water out of the air. Smoke goes down the chimney. If somebody tackles the snowman and smashes him all to pieces, just reverse the projector, and everybody else falls apart laughing.

In one shot, they thought it was funny when they took a pile of leaves and spread them neatly and evenly all over the yard. Did you ever see anybody unpaint a table? Drinking a coke out of a clear glass with a straw is pretty funny backwards. You can even take a knife and reassemble a sliced tomato.

I guess you could do it with a camcorder, but in the 1960's a reversable projector was high-tech stuff and people hadn't seen much funnyness like that.
